In this food "regime" mainly products of vegetable origin are ingested without any type of manipulation or cooking . Seasonal fruits, fresh vegetables, seeds, berries, sprouted legumes and nuts, cold-pressed oils, and raw honey form the basis of this colorful, cleansing diet.
The main benefit of keeping food intact is that in this way we ingest all the vitamins and minerals it contains : it is said that when a vegetable is cooked it loses a large percentage of its vitamins and minerals (especially vitamin C and group B vitamins). ). In addition, we avoid the toxins that are generated when certain foods are subjected to a high temperature, such as oil or honey.
Therefore, by following a raw vegan diet for a while, what we are doing is making the most of the nutrients in food and reducing the intake of toxins in our body . That is why it is considered as the diet of living foods.
Through this diet, we obtain a high fiber intake . That is why it helps us purify the body, creating a physical and mental detox effect.
When you decide to follow a diet as "strict" as this, you are teaching your mind to be disciplined and diligent . It teaches you to appease your desires and be happy with the simple and natural flavors of food. By undertaking this type of diet, we not only clean the body inside; we also work humility, gratitude and creativity. We refine the senses, showing them again the divine that resides in the simple.
In addition, being a diet full of water, we hydrate the body in summer. With the heat, the body needs coolness: in this way we keep the body temperature balanced. Nature and the body are two interconnected entities : harmonizing them to each season is a good decision. That is why it is very important to incorporate raw foods during the summer: keeping the cells hydrated will give us more vitality and energy, more health and happiness.
